Having visited The Troon Family History Group in 2024, I was delighted to be asked to return, and offer further insights into what life was like, locally in 1898, exploring a wide range of topics including the railway coming to Burns’ country, poverty and homelessness, and bad behaviour of not only ladies attending a celebrity wedding, but unacceptable behaviour from Ayr Academy pupils.
